In the wake of Hurricane Laura, Turkey Leg Hut is stepping up to the plate, literally. The popular Houston eatery is providing food, water, volunteer workers and equipment to help clear the debris that was left as a result of the storm.
“Our hearts go out everyone hit by this storm,” said TLH owner Nakia Price. “After going through Harvey and knowing too well the pain of feeling like you’ve lost everything, and the current times, we all need to take care of each other and help our neighbors in any way we can.”
The founders, Nakia and Lynn Price, along with more than 25 volunteers, will head to Louisiana Wednesday to provide 25 pallets of bottled water, more than 1,000 of their famous turkey legs, two bulldozers, and chainsaws, according to a press release.
Upon their arrival, they will also join forces with rapper Trae The Truth and and his #ReliefGang, who are already doing work on the ground to help victims in devastated areas.

TLH supported Trae’s efforts, and is now pitching in to help.
In an Instagram post, the owners said, “Please join us in helping the #reliefgang as we head to Louisiana this week to assist the victims of Hurricane Laura. Go Fund Me link to donate to the community in @traeabn bio.”
The volunteers won’t just be helping in Lake Charles, but also in other nearby areas, including Cameron and DeQuincy.
“For us, it’s with fresh drinking water, a special meal, and some boots on the ground to do whatever we can to help the recovery efforts,” Nakia said.
